FINAL Details for Event!

The 5K/10K will be here SOON!!! I can't wait to see all of you on Sunday at Bonnie Park in Strongsville. We'll kick-off at 2pm. Please plan to arrive by 1:45pm.

Here are some things to know...

#1. Non-perishable food item... As part of Weight Watchers Lose for Good campaign, I'm asking each participant to bring a one food item to be donated to the Cleveland Foodbank. Let's see the food pile-up at the park!

#2. Bring water! You need to hydrate yourself before, during and after the walk. I will have some water available, but it's always best to be prepared.

#3. We'll walk RAIN OR SHINE!! Unless there are really bad thunderstorms/tornadoes, we'll continue with the 5K/10K! (I know some of you have trained in the rain too! Woo hoo!)

#4. Look for the signs and balloons! I'll have signs and balloons at the corner of Pearl Road and Albion Road/Valley Parkway, and at the entrance to Bonnie Park.

#5. Sign in and out! I will be asking everyone to sign in and out to keep a record of those who attended and to ensure that no one is left behind!

#6. Group Photo!!! I want to commemorate this GREAT event with a group photo before we start. We'll gather together and take one before the walk begins.

#7. Carpool, if you invited guests. I want to ensure there is plenty of parking.

#8. And, lastly... Be prepared to have FUN!!!


Don't forget... come and walk as much as you can. It's not a race. If you can't walk the entire 5K (3.1 miles), come and walk as much as you can!

I am so excited that you'll be joining me and all my wonderful WW friends on Sunday for the 5K/10K Walk. I'm so proud of each and every one of you for all the hard work you've done to prepare for this walk. It's going to be GREAT!!!

Official Announcement....

Yay! I'm so excited to announce my 2nd 5K for 2010!

Thinking back on the 1st 5K in June, I'm filled with wonderful memories of the beautiful day that I was able to share with my amazing WW friends, along with their family, friends and pets! What an incredible day of motivation and inspiration! (Please check out the photo gallery on the right side of this blog!)

Together I know that we can make the 2nd 5K just as amazing! I will also be adding a 10K to the event --- I have some "over-achieving/overly-motivated" WW members who are looking to set a new goal for themselves!

For those not familiar with a 5K, it's 3.1 miles! (A 10K is 6.2 miles!) You do not have to run. You can walk! There will be some who want to run... we'll send them off first! If you're unable to walk the entire 5K, you can do as much/as little as you'd like. The route is a paved pathway through the MetroParks. We'll go halfway and then turn around and come back the other half. So, if you can only walk for 30 minutes... you can walk 15 minutes and then turn around and head back to the start.

Help others as you do good for yourself!

The June 5K provided such inspiration and motivation to many members... I'd like the Fall 5K to help others as well! With the kick-off of Weight Watchers 2010 Lose for Good Campaign... I am asking each 5K/10K participant to bring one non-perishable item (i.e. canned soup, cereal, canned tuna fish, canned fruit/veggie, etc.) as his/her "entry fee" to be donated to the Cleveland Foodbank!

I will total the pounds of food collected from our event. The donation will be made to the Cleveland Foodbank in all of our names... Together we CAN help others!
